Coaching Supervision

If you are a coach interested in supervision, read on to find out more.

Coaching supervision is a co-created learning relationship that aims to support you in your development, both personally and professionally, and in providing best practice to your client/s and organisations.

What is coaching supervision?

Supervision is a type of professional support for a coach that is separate from client interaction. It is different to coaching and mentor coaching.

EMCC Global (2022) describes coach supervision as a safe space for reflective dialogue with a practising supervisor, supporting the supervisee’s practice, development and well-being.

The ICF (2020) defines coaching supervision as a collaborative learning practice to continually build the capacity of the coach through reflective dialogue for the benefit of both coaches and clients.

In short, supervision provides a confidential, safe space for coaches to reflect on and make sense of client encounters and the dynamics present in their client engagements.

Supervision is valuable for both new and experienced coaches, whether you’re looking to deepen your skills, navigate ethical challenges, gain fresh perspectives, or grow in confidence.

What people are saying

“I’m incredibly grateful for the opportunity to work with Julie. She creates a space where I can reflect on my coaching practice without feeling judged, allowing me to unpack lots of intertwined thoughts and emotions. I appreciated being stretched to see different perspectives and explore areas I hadn’t considered before.

One of the most impactful aspects of working with Julie was how she helped me reflect on my own biases. I’ve moved from trying to control every aspect of my sessions to being more attentive to what’s unsaid. This shift has made me much more confident in my coaching and allowed me to better serve my coachees.”
