FAQs

Here’s where we collate questions we’ve been asked - and provide you with the answers.

  • This is something people are quite curious about.

Qoligenic® is our registered name. It reflects our commitment to and focus on:

QoL - fostering the Quality of Life of those we partner with

Genic - building resources that enable and support physical and psychological wellness (from the concept of salutogenesis)

So Qoligenic™ is our name and what and how we do what we do

  • I’m a coach, facilitator and speaker.

I help individuals and groups unlock their personal and professional potential.

We partner together to help you focus on goals, performance and making decisions to take action. An integral component of our work together is building your capability to enhance your development and wellbeing.

  • Many different individuals, organisations and groups - who all seek support as they navigate choices and change in their work or personal lives.

  • Positive psychology is the science of wellbeing – what makes life worth living.

It’s about feeling good and functioning well, what works and what is right, rather than what is not working.

It’s about identifying and focusing on assets, not deficits.

  • Coaching is having a confidential conversation with a trusted thinking partner.

We focus on increasing your self-awareness, insights and understanding of your assets, resources and creativity, so that new possibilities and options can be identified.

  • Yes and no.

Yes - most coaching involves a collaboration to support your growth, learning and potential.

No - the background of trained, qualified coaches is very varied, with many specialisations.

You need to satisfy yourself of the credentials, quality and fit of any coach before any engagement is entered into.

  • Positive psychology coaching is grounded in science, evidence and research.

This guides the types of questions and activities used during coaching to target goals and desired improvement, enhance wellbeing, focus on strengths and build personal resources.

  • My coaching philosophy is simple.

I coach in support of my client.

I am fully committed to adding value

I am authentic, positive and confident

I’m action-oriented and hold clients accountable

I deeply care about and believe in my clients and their potential

  • My coaching is personalised and relevant to you - respecting the individual you are. I do not use a one size fits all approach. I get to know you and your circumstances and we co-create the nature of the coaching. I offer best fit tools and methods from my extensive repertoire as, and if, the need arises. Client choice determines what, if any, tools are used.

  • This is agreed with the client before we start. There is no typical number or duration of sessions. While people and organisations often expect 6 x 1 hour sessions, the number, duration and time between sessions needs to work for you to optimise your development and learning. This may mean we meet more or less often or flex our agreement as we work together.

  • My clients say I’m warm, kind, supportive, thought provoking, insightful and inspiring.

I use my expertise in positive psychology, coaching, change and business – and bring distinct personal flair to my coaching.

Bottom line - I help you make decisions, take action towards your goals and get results.
